DOCUMENTATION REPORT
ON
GENERAL ASSEMBLY – July 21, 2010

The General Assembly was conducted for the CCS student body of University of Cebu - Banilad for them to be informed about the upcoming events which concerns the department. One of the said events was the Festival of Excellence which will be held on the first week of August. Another was the Acquaintance Party which gains the most number of reactions and suggestions from the crowd. And last but not the least, the speakers tackled about the Intramurals and presented the t-shirt design to the students.
Each of those upcoming events was tackled and was thoroughly discussed by the officers and some of the conducting committee heads. The faculty / CCS teachers being invited to be part of the assembly were also given chance to impart their viewpoint about the topics and also to clear up some issues brought up by some students.

PARTICIPANTS
The College of Computer Studies (IT, IS, IM, ACT) students who participated in the General Assembly were 307 first year students, 224 second year students, 140 third year students, and lastly 99 fourth year students.
Some of the CCS teachers were also seen at the venue specifically Ms. Lotus Shoemaker, Ms. Janeth Ugang, Ms. Georgita Manlosa, Ms. Marijoy Yaun, Ms. April Labrador, Mr. Jon Kashmir Colipapa, Mr. Edsel Paray and Mr. Jomar Colao.

VENUE
The General Assembly conducted last July 21, 2010 (Wednesday) was held at the AVR 2 which holds the first year and fourth year CCS students during the morning session which started at 9:30-11:30am, and the second year and third year CCS students during the afternoon session which started at 2:00-5:00pm.
As for the students, the venue was a cold, well-lighted place. But since the first year students have the biggest population among all other years, some of them were not accommodated at their scheduled time. However, the officers came up with a solution to that problem and that was to let them in during the afternoon session. That incident caused the population of the afternoon session to increase but as far as the discussion went on, the crowd managed to handle themselves with the aid of the officers, volunteers and most especially by the teachers.

SPEAKER

The General Assembly was hosted by two third year IT students who were also volunteers of the PSITS at the same time. They were at hand to make the chat flow smoothly while the discussion proper was being presented to the audience.
The main speakers were the officers who have the know-how of all the event-related topics to be discussed to the students. To be specific, we have Harold Dabon (IS-vice president), Clyde Harold Paronda (treasurer), and most especially Mark Noel Georpe (president).

COMMENTS

·         There’s nothing left to say. The General Assembly was well – organized.
·         Successful in hearing out student's thoughts and ideas about the upcoming events.

RECOMMENDATION

We would like to recommend about the venue since there was a problem regarding about it. Next time, we must make sure that the venue would accommodate all participants, make sure that the number of participants is of equal ratio with the chairs which they will be using, and the scheduling must be strictly implemented. Participants should be comfortable for them to focus only with the discussion proper.
